The other day while sitting at my computer Windows Movie Maker somehow pop'd up on my screen, I guess I accidentally clicked it ( No accident it just pop'd up out of no were thats God). But Ive been wanting to do YouTube videos when I move to New York to track my journey spiritual, academic, business. Just the whole thing moving to the big city and I know God has great thing in stored for me and I think it would be fun to document. Any-who, coming across this Windows Movie Maker; " I was like whoa, let make a video so i did." At the moment my nephew-cousin was there and it was just him and me so I ended up just doing about him because I knew his mother would love it. He is so cute.

Ethics in Relation to Todays Issues

The most significant ethical issue in this world is Individual relativism, which is the idea that what is right or wrong morally is what each individual believes is right or wrong. Same-sex marriage, censorship, immigration and stem cell research are issues that the American culture struggle with today. Most of this friction comes between generations, the conservative and liberals, Old school and the Pop culture, and religious and nonbelievers. When voting takes place for these issues the nation is always split on decision. While sitting down and making decisions that will affect lives rather, it brightens the future or not, people look to their moral and religious beliefs to choose for someone else which in many cases are incorrect. To these issues (stem cell research, abortion, same sex marriage, and censorship) being a little open minded in considering someone else's fate can help society, rather than retaining it.

People consider themselves to be correct when it comes to someone else’s fate. This is the definition of descriptive egoism, a person seeking to promote his or her self-interest above all else. For example how can a man make a decision for a teenage girl who is seeking to abort her baby, when he has no knowledge of being a women let alone the role of a mother. That is unfair to the teenage girl.

This man may choose to vote in this selfish manner for a number of reasons Divine command ethics which is God ordain what one ought to do. One ought to do what ever has the most desirable consequence, which is consequentialsim. On the other hand regardless of any consequences one must do one’s moral duty, deontological ethics. Or he may vote one what just seems “right” by vote one what a virtuous person would vote. Lastly, he might just vote on what everyone else is vote and follow universalistic of ethical hedonism and seek the greatest pleasure for the greatest number of people over other things being his morals, religion and descriptive egoism.

To solve the most important ethical issue that we face today in the United States individual relativism which has retained the growth of our country for decades we should all consider research and considering our future and the tomorrow of our next generation and not just going for the “oky doke” or other ethic frameworks. By considering something beyond your fate you can bless someone with the chance to get out of an impossible situation.

Given Thanx and Thanx Given Back-November

Decmeber, December! its Winter, its Winter! I've been so excited to get my acceptance letter to attend CSUEast BAy so i can get the fuck out of here ( love the fam but they gett'n on my last). I've been waiting since Oct. to get my letter (closure) still to today I have not gotten it. Spoke to the lady in admissions she says " there should be NO problem" in her lay back bay demeanor. I'm like "OK!" so she told me to wait until the end of the week for my letter and then call back if i didn't get it, and i didn't. After contacting the same person that canceled my Spring application she told me the reason why i wasn't getting a respond was because i was suppose to send in a intent to register so i did. That was before Thanks giving so by the time thanks giving came i had already prayed and told God i was going to put it into his hands. In responds to that i send in to more applications to San Jose State and San Francisco State for FAll '09. Those deadlines where on Nov. 30. Automatically assuming that all hope was lost for CSUEB i told myself it was for the better and revamped my plan( Chill out for 6 months and work get a car and save money). This week Dec. 3rd i get a reply finally form my Evaluator saying that the reason for the delay of my response letter was because they need my SAT scores which i have records of sending. SO in conclusion I get a call verifying my intent to register to CSUEB them saying as so as i resend my SAT score they will send me my registration packet. Thanx alot too late.

Hip Hop Beyond Beats and Rhymes

The objectifying of women, the portraying of black men in a negative light, the music displays a negative viewpoint on the black community as a whole. The biggest controversy of Hip-Hop will it ever end? Let’s take a look at black men in Hip-Hop and in general. Negative views and images of black men on TV or through Hip-Hop music are brainwashing young black men into being, hard, violent, insensitive, and to treat women as an object. Hip-Hop also portrays a sense of homoerotism and misogyny in music video and rap lyrics. Looking at Hip-Hop from a women point of view is a much distorted view. We love Hip-Hop it is as much our culture as it is for black men, but the more and more I listen the more and more I become appalled. Sitting down listening to a regular rap album; for respectable black women; she becomes uncomfortable, disgusted and conflicted with her culture and the music that she loves. What she is hearing is a black man her “brother” referring to her as all kinds of “Bitches and Whores”, basically he is implying that a black women in less for sex isn’t worth anything. As a result 61% of rape victims are under 18. The rapper also implies that his “Boy’s” come first before any thing. Rappers today impose that women should be objectified as sex toys, but on the other hand signify brotherly love against women, homosexuals, punks; men that show sensitivity. Rappers idolize money, womanizing, and being hard. Listening to rap albums rappers implies homoerotism, and misogyny. Misogyny is the hatred of women moreover homoerotism is the portraying of homosexual desire, Rappers portray both in music lyrics. Television portrays black men as being a one trick pony. Young black men have no one to look up to on TV except rappers and professional athletes. These are professions that do not require academic degrees. Young black men grow up watching BET and are brainwashed into thinking they don’t need a higher education and idolize making money the easy way, as rappers imply hustling. Hustling means getting money any way a person can include stealing, sealing drugs, or through violence. BET is known to be the cancer of black men. This network airs music video that does involve rappers throwing money at the camera, a dozen half-naked women shaking the backsides against the rapper, and violence. Rap music implies hyper masculinity, men being manly and hard. Meaning they show men with their shirts off implying that they are dangerous. Jail, crime, gangs and other negative images are reflected in Hip-Hop music. Do to this young black men are 14 times more likely to become a victim of gun violence. BET hardly ever shows high educated professional black men; instead show black men as being non professional, uneducated, violent, hard, and disrespectful to women. Will the controversy ever end? My feelings for this subject hunt me everyday. I feel very conflicted with my culture, and overwhelmingly uncomfortable with the view of black men, and how the see black women. Sometimes it is hard to believe that black men see us that way, when I hear the filthy lyrics I ask myself “Who are they talking about are these horrible women really out there?” Women who allow men to call them out of their names, and treat them like objects. Rappers make it seem as if they never meet a respectable woman in their entire lives. Of course it can be stopped but it will take the entire black community to do so with it be in the next 10 years? No, but we will have to fight because we are talking about the health of our culture, it has to change.
